ReadyRoster vs ShiftCare
ReadyRoster costs less than a per-user platform for most NDIS teams once they have a handful of support workers because ReadyRoster charges per participant and ShiftCare charges per user. Adding a support worker raises the bill on a per-user platform and does not change it on ReadyRoster. ShiftCare has more years of integrations and customer reviews; ReadyRoster has unlimited staff seats on every plan including the free tier.
Per participant, not per user
ShiftCare bills per user. Every support worker added to the roster adds to the monthly bill, so the software becomes more expensive as a provider takes on staff. In a sector that runs on high headcount and casual shifts, that turns a fixed cost into a cost of hiring.
ReadyRoster bills per participant. Staff seats are unlimited on every plan, including the free one. A provider supporting 15 participants pays the Team price whether the roster carries five workers or fifty.
Which one costs less depends on the ratio of staff to participants, and it is worth working out against a current quote. ShiftCare's prices are set in staff bands with annual discounts and a minimum staff count, so they are not reproduced here. Check them on shiftcare.com. Last reviewed 11 September 2026.

Who should choose what
Choose ReadyRoster if: you have or plan to have 10+ support workers; you want a free tier to test before paying; per-user pricing is making you delay hiring; you need full audit-pack export rather than an add-on; you want tamper-evident audit records out of the box.
Stay on ShiftCare if: you're already deep in their Xero or MYOB integrations; your team is under 8 staff and per-user pricing is cheap; you need the longest possible customer-review history; you require native iOS and Android app store builds and an installable web app isn't enough.
Frequently asked questions
Is ReadyRoster cheaper than ShiftCare?
It depends on how many support workers a provider has for each participant, because the two charge on different bases. ShiftCare charges per user, so the bill rises with every hire. ReadyRoster charges per participant, with unlimited staff seats, so hiring does not change the price. ReadyRoster's own prices are $0, $29, $79 and $199 per month. ShiftCare's current prices are on their website and are worth checking before deciding.
Does ReadyRoster have everything ShiftCare has?
ReadyRoster covers the core: rostering, GPS clock-in, progress notes, NDIS billing, credential tracking, audit packs, mobile worker app, in-app messaging. ShiftCare has more years of integrations (Xero direct, MYOB direct) which are on ReadyRoster's roadmap. ShiftCare has SCHADS auto-rates today; ReadyRoster captures shift bands cleanly for payroll export but full automated penalty calculation is on the roadmap.
Can I migrate from ShiftCare to ReadyRoster?
Yes. Participants, staff, and credentials can be CSV-imported during onboarding (10–20 minutes per file). The team can also help with one-off migrations for paid plans, email hello@readyroster.com.au.
Why would someone stay on ShiftCare?
Honestly: if you already have working Xero or MYOB direct integrations and your team is small enough that per-user pricing is cheap, the switch may not be urgent. ShiftCare also has more years of customer reviews. ReadyRoster is in early access and our review base is growing.
What's the biggest difference?
Pricing model. ShiftCare charges per user, your bill grows when you hire. ReadyRoster charges per participant, your bill grows when you grow revenue. For care providers (a high-headcount sector), this is the difference between software being a fixed cost and a tax on hiring.
